There has already been so much grim speculation about what is going to happen in 2009, you would think everyone is a psychic. But now we are finally here it’s about time for some realistic forecasts for the year and for you as a self cert borrower.
It’s not going to be easy, that is for certain – credit is still tight, availability is still low and the downturn will continue. But self cert will become a priority for the big lenders and for the Government, as they both try and turn the UK’s fortunes around. You will see more opportunity for small business and the self employed to obtain credit.
So take advantage of this by making sure your finances are the best they can be in 2009. It doesn’t need to be a tough year for every borrower – if you use your money right and find the best deals possible, things will go on as usual and you can make your business work.
Self cert loans and mortgages are not extinct, and they are still very helpful to those who cannot prove their income. But they must be handled with kid gloves in 2009 – the credit crunch hangover is here and that means making sure you are the best borrower possible – sensible planning, sensible spending and a sensible but hopeful forecast should see you through 2009.
