We all have fears, and we all have worries, especially those of us who do not have a steady stream of income or own their own business. The best way to make them go away is have some protection.

The fear of being burgled keeps nearly two thirds of Brits awake at night according to research from Halifax Home Insurance. Why worry yourself out of a good night's sleep when some simple home insurance will keep you, your home and your business protected from harm?

Further top fears include ID theft or fraud, theft of personal belongings when outside the home, vandalism and malicious damage and the fear of a house fire. Burglary is found to be the biggest fear for all age groups except for those aged over 65 who, despite being perceived as an easier target for burglary, say their greatest worry is ID theft and fraud.

Talk to a financial adviser about protecting yourself against any eventuality. It might be in the form of income protection, critical illness cover or simple home and contents insurance – whatever it is, it will stop those sleepless nights all for a few pounds a month.

Running a business or earning extra money in 2009 should be the thing you worry about, not the 'what-ifs'. Let a protection package do that for you.
