Fed's new plans fail to depress dollar spreads

A steady drift higher in dollar lending rates in Asia revealed that the U.S. government's new plans to support consumers and the mortgage securities market had done little to soothe money markets.

U.S. adds plan to buy debt to global rescue package plan on Tuesday to buy mortgage-related debt and back consumer loans as it tries to revive the U.S. lending market and steer the global economy away from a deep recession.
